I’ve been involved in policymaking and politics for over thirty years, and I understand the process. From being elected to seven terms in the West Virginia Legislature, to serving in the Executive Branch as a Deputy Cabinet Secretary and Executive Director of two state agencies, to in-house lobbying on issues as diverse and complex as healthcare and electric utilities, I’ve developed an important skill: how to present public policy issues in a way that is both compelling and easy to understand.

The responsibilities of the Virginia General Assembly require legislators to be well-informed — and the lobbyists who work with them to be knowledgeable, accessible, and honest. AMORES GOVERNMENT RELATIONS understands this assignment, and carries it out every day.

I believe in strong relationships with both Democrat and Republican policymakers, because at the end of the day I know from experience that most issues aren’t strictly partisan, and legislators are just trying to do the right thing for their constituents.
